Japanese utility Hokuriku Electric Power Co said it manually re-shut the 540-megawatt No.1 reactor at its sole Shika nuclear plant in northern Japan on Tuesday for unplanned checks into a technical problem.
A company spokesman said it does not know how long the inspection will take.
Hokuriku had restarted the reactor on Dec. 12, 10 days after it was shut due to a problem. (Reporting by Osamu Tsukimori; Editing by Michael Watson)
