One person calls another person and then they started talking. At the end first person gives money to the second person. Here , There are people who like to chat. Do we call them chat worker? We cannot call them workers, just because of there was a money transfer took happened from one person to another.
There are other situations also there, where money transfer happens even without useful work. For example, we may donate money to people sometimes, gangsters shows guns and loot us, movie, music, software uses copy right act to loot us. Do we call them charity worker or ganger worker?
Worker is a person who put effort on raw material to produce value added goods/services etc for the society. People who creates an environment such as machineries, factories etc using their capital are the capitalist, corporate, government, or co-operative based on the ownership of the capital. But the effort that the worker putting on the raw material is the added value for the product.
Part of the added value goes as wages to worker and remaining part goes to the investor as profit. How much percentage has to be shared with the worker is a controversial thing. Since the workplace is owned by the capitalist they took most of the added value and always tries to exploit workers to gain more profit. There are co-operative, government sector tries to solve this problem. There are new concepts like “Fire the Boss” [link] also now emerging.
Prostitutes, whom some people call “sex worker”, actually does not create any value addition. They involves in some activities with a so called “consumer” like previously stated “chat worker”. And both parties becomes satisfied. Satisfaction is some chemical changes in our brain.
Living creatures get most satisfied when they eat food or having sex. This is because of evolutionary reasons. A chemical called dopamine is responsible for the satisfaction. When the “sex worker” doing “work” finally dopamine get released. Both the parties get that. Then how can we say this as a genuine work? (One person in this act has to pay money to another. That can be treated as illegal activity.)
Do not take dopamine effect is silly. We can say that sex is an act of buying dopamine. Drugs also has the same effect of satisfaction. Some east Asian countries used meth, a notorious drug, to workers in the factory for continuous, long, satisfied working hours/days. Those who idealizing prostitution is also doing same thing.
Block people from the reality and make them virtual slaves of this exploitary system. Ideas are broadcasted indirectly through media for the 1%, to make the system robust. People are only allowed to think/act within that box they draw. The slaves are feel that they are free to do anything. But any idea outside the box is treated as dangerous, criminal etc. Whata perfect system.
I am not telling that prostitutes are just looking for satisfaction. The root cause of prostitution is poverty. It is a social problem. It cannot be solved by isolating it from the society and adusting personal rules. A system based on exploitation makes prostitutes. Branding them “sex workers” and glorifying prostitution is just for protecting the exploitation system.
Why there is a huge inequality in our world? Why 99% of the population is suffering a lot? Why the 1% can have heavenly luxury?
We dont need to show sympathy. Everyone in this planet has the right to live equally and happily. It is not a charity or favour from somebody else. That equality is necessary for human generations to survive in this planet.
