History is one of the most misused discipline of knowledge. It is full of that kind of incidents. Its because of the way we learn history. From the old incidents we select few which is useful for us and use it for our selfish use.
Those who complaining that their group, sect had been tortured by some other group, will make life of all other people miserable in future.
So the way we learn history is very important. There are 2 good ways to learn history.
1. objective method – think that you are an alien from another universe. You come to earth. Select the subject of interest. You don’t have any connection to anybody or any incidents. Learn everything. This is completely objective.
2. Complete Empathy method – you are all in the past. Think that you are the only person living in the past. All the historic people are you alone. You are king, you are common people. You are Britishers, you are freedom fighters. You are invading Muslim king, you are local people. You are Muslim, you are Hindu. You are man, you are woman.
The second approach is radical. If you try to think or tries to think in this way, it will change your existing views.
But in either of the above cases, there is one important think you must do. Never study the subject by removing it from society and time and putting it in a test tube. Learn completely with all its connections to other things. In the second approach this way inbuilt.
Past is the combined events in the history. Everything happens is right in history. There is nothing wrong about analysing right and wrong in historic incidents. But never accuse subjectively. You cannot isolate one thing from it. If you does that it is stupid or you may have hidden agendas knowingly or not. Please remember this when someone tell you about history.
What ever happened is right. But this approach is not for present or future. There is right and wrong in that. You can change everything in the present time, also future. Future depends on present. You can check things right or wrong. Take the side of right thing. The time is asking for it from us.
