The jailed former Enron executive Jeffrey Skilling has reached a plea deal that could see him serve around half of his original 24-year sentence. Skilling was convicted on 19 counts of conspiracy, fraud and insider trading in one of the nations largest-ever corporate scandals. On Wednesday, prosecutors said Skilling had agreed to give up claims on the $40 million he has already forfeited as well as the right to appeal 19 counts. In return, Skilling could be released 10 years early, in 2017.
