1. The well meaning ones, who believe that it works, does no damage and is the cure for all the “crooked” Indians. That any flaws can simply be “fixed”. That it will lead to world peace. (Ok, maybe not the last).
2. Tech idiots, enamored of binary solutions. Because they can code, they think they have answers to life. Usually blind to practical reality, to people, to human rights, to the deadly effects their “creations” have on flesh and blood. Most of the geeks connected to aadhaar.
3. The moneyed, Tech Czars. Too much money and a God complex. Know what’s best for everyone else and empirical evidence is simply an inconvenience (or jealous rivals). The apparent movers behind aadhaar. (Apparent, because I believe they’re being manipulated very skillfully).
4. The shadowy masterminds, the real movers. Unknown, but almost certainly experts at manipulation and pressure. Could be foreign hands, local politicians, intelligence agencies, business conglomerates, World Bank, CIA, NSA, xyz… India is not the only country to face this.
5. The unconcerned individual. Probably the most dangerous, for the sheer inertia of numbers. Not bothered about concepts of identities and/or rights. Will NEVER learn from another’s experience. Looks at all this as just a slight inconvenience to be quickly dispensed with.
