Gogoro unveiled its battery-swapping Smartscooter – and the start-up just announced that its zippy electric vehicles will hit the streets of Taipei this summer! The pilot program will blanket greater Taipei with the first Gogoro Energy Network – a series of connected battery swapping stations that allow Smartscooter riders to fully recharge in six seconds flat. Taipei City and New Taipei City will also be offering increased subsidies for electric vehicle purchases and preferred EV parking spots, and Gogoro plans to launch its flagship store (the Gogoro Experience Center) in Taipei’s Xinyi shopping district.
