Snow Leopards May Lose 30% of Himalayan Habitat Due to Climate Change

Snow leopards are already endangered, with about 4000-6500 of them left worldwide, but new research shows that climate change may make them even more endangered. Scientists from WWF have determined that on our current greenhouse gas emission trajectory 30% of the snow leopards’ habitat in the Himalaya may be lost as the treeline moves higher, and the cats’ preferred alpine habitat becomes warmer and wetter.
