Europol says at least 10,000 child refugees have disappeared after arriving on European soil, sparking concern that many have fallen victim to human and sex trafficking. Europol says thousands of children have registered with European authorities yet are now are unaccounted for. The agency estimates some may be with family members but that others have fallen into hands of a pan-European “criminal infrastructure.”
