Initiate Criminal Proceedings Against Vijay Mallya and Other Defaulters

Vijay Mallya owes Indian banks over Rs 9,000 crores. He has run away to the UK and we don’t know when or if he will come back.

He is not alone. There are 44 companies in all that owe 4.8 Lakh Crores to Public Sector Banks like SBI and Canara Bank. Now India’s biggest banks are in trouble.

Hardworking people like you and me run from pillar to post for a bank loan. We are held accountable if we can’t pay the loan back.

Mallya should be held accountable. Every one of those 44 companies should be held accountable. Why should the taxpayer pay the price for corporate mistakes?

India is going through an economic crisis. Indian banks have increasing number of bad loans. 73% of these unpaid loans are from India’s rich, like Vijay Mallya.

Many of these unpaid loans are being written off. Instead of recovering them, we are pressurising the middle class and poor farmers. Why should the common people of this country suffer while rich men like Vijay Mallya escape and enjoy?

Sign my petition asking the Finance Minister to initiate criminal proceedings against Vijay Mallya and the other 44 defaulters. We need to set a strong example that will make corporate defaulters think twice before cheating this country.
