Leading soft drinks retailer AG Barr is taking carbon emissions out of its distribution operations in London.
The company is using an electric truck to deliver IRN BRU and other famous brands to retail outlets across the capital. And the 10 tonne Smith Newton truck is helping to save money as well as the environment.
Designed and built in the UK by Smith Electric Vehicles, the Newton is the world’s largest road-going electric truck. Its lithium-ion batteries provide a top speed of 50mph and a range of up to 100 miles on a single charge. A full recharge takes 6-8 hours.
