Biometric attendance has turned into a bane for more than 20,000 polytechnic students as they were detained by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Telangana for attendance shortage. While the college managements claimed that shortage of attendance is not entirely a student’s fault and blamed faulty devices for it, the officials, on the other hand, termed this as an ‘attitude’ issue more than a technical problem.

All India Democratic Students Organization protesting biometrics systems and #Aadhaar usage in attendance systems. 21,481 students unable to write polytechnic examinations because of mandatory biometrics. Blatant disregard for SC judgement on Aadhaar.
