On January 15, in the aftermath of the January 6 fascist attack on the US Capitol, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi appointed retired Lt. General Russel Honoré to lead “an immediate review of security infrastructure, interagency processes and command and control.” The mandate of the task forces was to determine what “security failures” enabled the pro-Trump insurrectionists to overrun the building and delay congressional certification of the results of the 2020 presidential election.
The report offers no explanation for the lack of security at the Capitol, despite repeated appeals by then-President Trump for his fascistic supporters in various militia organizations to come to D.C. on January 6 to prevent Congress from certifying Joe Biden’s election victory.
