A 4.26 MW solar power plant completed

Federal, state and local officials joined Avidan Management, an owner and manager of industrial and commercial real estate, on April 19 to welcome the completion of the 4.26-megawatt system, which will generate renewable energy for tenants at a companyowned distribution facility on Talmadge Road.
In recent months, about 17,745 solar panels have been installed on the roof of the 656,255-square-foot facility. The solar electric system will produce more than 5 million kilowatt hours annually, enough to service about half of the power needs of the building’s multiple tenants. The occupants use the facility for office space and for the storage of dry goods and refrigerated and frozen foods, according to Avidan Management.
The 4.26-megawatt system is expected to reduce carbon emissions by 3,750 tons annually and, over the system’s lifetime, would be equivalent to planting 3.5 million trees or taking nearly 1,000 SUVs off the road.
